ICT Experts to Explore the Region's Ongoing Digital Revolution as IDC's Middle East CIO Summit Returns to Dubai in 2018 | About IDC | IDC CEMA

Dubai – International Data Corporation (IDC) is delighted to announce that its annual Middle East CIO Summit will take place in new surroundings early next year, with Dubai's JW Marriott Marquis hotel set to host the 2018 edition on February 21-22. More than 200 of the region's most influential information and communication technology leaders will be attendance as a roster of respected industry experts and visionaries share their unique insights and showcase innovative strategies for thriving in the digital economy.

"As the digital revolution continues to gather pace, traditional business models are undergoing unprecedented levels of disruption," says Jyoti Lalchandani, IDC's group vice president and regional managing director for the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa. "This has triggered a wave of digital transformation across the region, but expert guidance is required to overcome the myriad challenges and roadblocks that lie in wait. After celebrating the Summit's 10th anniversary aboard a luxury cruise liner earlier this year, we are delighted to be returning to Dubai in 2018 to kickstart a new decade of pioneering ICT thought leadership."

Combining an eclectic mix of presentations, panel discussions, focus groups, and workshops, the Summit's agenda for 2018 has been designed to help the region's CIOs rethink the way they leverage information, harness emerging ICT solutions, and facilitate organization-wide innovation, with the ultimate aim of making their enterprises more agile, efficient, and productive than ever before. The rise of disruptive automation will feature prominently, with discussions centering on the transformative powers of innovation accelerators such as robotics, artificial intelligence and cognitive systems, next-gen security, and the Internet of Things.

In a new twist for 2018, the Summit will include a series of sessions focusing on the unique challenges and opportunities presented by some of the region's key country markets, as well as 24 separate focus groups that will explore the industry's very latest developments in an intimate roundtable setting, thereby enabling attendees to tailor their Summit experience to their own individual needs.

Away from the event's main venue, attendees will be able to participate in various informal activities like golf, seaplane city tours, driving experiences at Yas Marina Circuit, and heritage desert safaris, to name just a few. There will also be a dedicated awards ceremony to acknowledge the efforts of the Middle East's most inspirational ICT leaders, confirming the CIO Summit's status as the industry's premier platform for networking and professional development.
