Abstract

This IDC study, Russia Storage 2008–2012 Forecast and 2007 Vendor Shares, provides detailed analysis, conclusions, and forecasts regarding the dynamics of disk storage market in Russia. The information in this study is intended to provide an understanding of the changes and opportunities facing the storage industry in these emerging markets. Our 2007 figures and analysis are based on information gathered from interviews with the leading IT companies (vendors, distributors, assemblers, system integrators, value-added resellers) in the markets. "Although high-end enterprise storage systems continue to account for more than half of external storage revenue in Russia, volume and midrange external storage systems are finally becoming the storage-organization strategy of choice for an increasing number of SMEs.
