Thomas Vavra Research Director, Verticals & Insights IDC CEMA
Tom Vavra joined IDC CEMA in June 2000. Since that time he has worked in the Software and IT Services groups, completing reports on the IT services and software markets in the Czech and Slovak Republics and contributing to several others. He has been involved in numerous consulting projects covering various technologies.
Vavra has had numerous articles published in the IT press in the CEMA region covering topics such as business intelligence, outsourcing, and enterprise software. He is regularly quoted in IT trade publications and has been interviewed by various television news programs.
Prior to joining IDC, Mr. Vavra worked as a market researcher for an esteemed New York firm, as an Eastern European Trade Specialist at the US Department of Commerce, and as a researcher at the Institute for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies in Washington, DC.
Mr. Vavra holds a B.A. from Binghamton University and an M.A. in International Affairs (with a specialization in East Central Europe) from George Washington University. He speaks Czech.
